What is Glass Fiber Geogrid?
Geogrid is a major geosynthetic, which has unique properties and efficacy compared to other geosynthetics. It is often used as a reinforcement material for reinforced soil structure or a reinforcement material for composite materials.
What are the basic features of glass fiber geogrid?
1. High tensile strength and low elongation: Fiberglass geogrid is made of glass fiber, which has high deformation resistance and elongation at break is less than 3%.
2. No long-term creep: As a reinforcing material, it is extremely important to have the ability to resist deformation under long-term load, i.e., creep resistance, and glass fibers will not creep, which ensures that the product can maintain its performance for a long time.
3. Thermal stability: The melting temperature of glass fiber is above 1000°C, which ensures the stability of the glass fiber geogrid in the paving operation.
4. Compatibility with asphalt mixing: The material coated by the glass fiber geogrid in the post-treatment process is designed for the asphalt mixture, and each fiber is fully coated with high compatibility with the asphalt, so as to ensure that the glass fiber geogrid will not be isolated from the asphalt mixture in the asphalt layer, but firmly combined.
5. Physical and chemical stability: After being coated with a special post-treatment agent, the glass fiber geogrid can resist all kinds of physical wear and chemical attack, as well as resist biological attack and climate change, ensuring that its performance is not affected.
6. Aggregate interlocking and restriction: Since the fiberglass geogrid is a mesh structure, the aggregate in the asphalt concrete can penetrate it, so that a mechanical interlock is formed. This restriction hinders the movement of the aggregate, enabling the asphalt mixture to achieve a better compaction state, higher load-bearing capacity, better load transfer performance and less deformation under load.
What is glass fiber geogrid used for?
1. Old asphalt concrete pavement, reinforced asphalt surface layer, disease prevention and control.
2. Cement concrete pavement is reconstructed with composite pavement to inhibit reflection cracks caused by plate shrinkage.
3. Road expansion and reconstruction project to prevent and control cracks caused by the junction of the old and the new and uneven settlement.
4. The soft soil foundation reinforcement treatment is conducive to the water separation and consolidation of the soft soil, effectively inhibits the settlement, uniformly distributes the stress, and enhances the overall strength of the roadbed.
5. The semi-rigid base of the new road produces shrinkage cracks, and the reinforcement is strengthened to prevent the pavement cracks caused by the reflection of foundation cracks.
