1.Product description:

Bentonite Geosynthetic Clay Liner Bentonite Waterproof Blanket Waterproof blanket, bentonite composite waterproof blanket (GCL) is a new geosynthetic material. It is made of graded natural sodium based bentonite particles and corresponding admixtures mixed as raw materials, and is fixed between geotextile and plastic woven fabric through needle punching process and equipment to form a blanket like waterproof roll. Bentonite waterproof blanket not only has all the characteristics of geotechnical materials, but also has excellent waterproof (seepage) performance.

2.Main Features

1. Compactness: Sodium based bentonite forms a high-density diaphragm under water pressure. When the thickness is about 3mm, its water permeability is 5 × 10-11m/s, equivalent to 100 times the compactness of 30cm thick clay, with strong self water retention performance.

2. Permanent waterproof performance: Because sodium based bentonite is a natural inorganic material, even after a long time or changes in the surrounding environment, it will not undergo aging or corrosion, so its waterproof performance is durable.

3. Simple construction: Compared with other waterproof materials, the construction is relatively simple and does not require heating and pasting. Simply use bentonite powder and nails, washers, etc. for connection and fixation. No special inspection is required after construction, and it is easy to repair if waterproof defects are found. GCL is the shortest construction period among existing waterproof materials.

4. Not affected by temperature: it will not break under cold weather conditions.

5. Integration of waterproof materials and objects: When sodium based bentonite meets water, it has an expansion capacity of 20-28 times. Even if the concrete structure undergoes vibration and settlement, the bentonite in GCL can repair cracks on the concrete surface within 2mm.

4.Construction specification:
Bentonite waterproof blankets are generally not suitable for construction at negative temperatures. Under negative temperature, the roof insulation layer and leveling layer are not easy to dry, and if the excess water in them is frozen, the volume will expand, which is easy to cause cracking of the waterproof layer of the coiled material; When the temperature rises and thaws, the water evaporates, which can easily cause the waterproof layer of the coiled material to bulge. In addition, due to the low temperature and fast heat dissipation in winter, it is not easy to ensure the use temperature of the cementitious material for the bentonite waterproof blanket. Waterproof coiled materials are prone to brittle fracture at negative temperatures, and it is also difficult to lay, making it difficult to ensure the quality of the waterproof layer.

When it is necessary to lay the bentonite waterproof blanket roof waterproof layer in winter, the leveling layer should use cast-in-situ bentonite waterproof blanket mortar, or use dried reinforced concrete precast slabs, with the joints filled with bentonite waterproof blanket mortar.

During construction, cold prevention measures should be taken to ensure the use temperature of the adhesive material for the bentonite waterproof blanket, otherwise it is difficult to meet the specification requirement that the thickness of each layer of hot bentonite waterproof blanket adhesive material for pasting the bentonite waterproof blanket should not be greater than 1.5mm.
